"Retired" product lines

My sister had an AG bear in a winter coat. It was cute. What was AG gear?

Do you remember those little rooms that AG used to make. Those today rooms, not the scenes and settings for the historicals? Those were cute, too.

Those are the AG Minis. AG used to make clothing for girls that was more than just matching clothing with the dolls. That was AG Gear.

I think those are all the lines. I consider Bitty Baby and Our New Baby to be the exact same thing. But that may just be me.

AG Gear was so fun. I have a number of the catalogues still, and there was always a bunch of stuff I wanted. Never got any of it, lol, which is a pity, because there are still a few things that I really like, looking at them now. I really wish I had gotten those items when I was little. I definitely feel the line has been discontinued.

I never liked the Minis. Those rooms didn't look at all like real rooms. I would have loved to have had a more "normal" looking set.

Was never into AG Bear, but I still think it's cute they made a doll sized one, lol. I've got two of the mini ones, and I think they're cute.

I don't really get what the AG Minis were. I wasn't collecting for a while and I think I missed out and now it just doesn't make sense. Were they for the mini dolls? or were they just rooms? I read a press release from when they were first introduced and it didn't really say.

Ashlea, they were rooms that could be arranged and rearranged. Even the walls could be reversed, and were magnetized. They were also equipped electrically so you could have things like lights or a ceiling fan. No dolls were available for the rooms, so they were more for girls to experiment with different room designs.

I have some AG Gear. The clothing I ended up with wasn't always very good quality. It was often low-quality polyester that pilled after just a bit of wear. Except the sweater I purchased. My dad and brother compliment the sweater every time I wear it (and males in my family aren't always the first to notice/compliment clothes!) and I still have it and it's in excellent condition! I agree, Cami, the clothing catalogs were loads of fun--pictures of girls enjoying the outdoors with friends. I miss those catalogs! I especially liked the dimensions of the catalogs. They were smaller and square.

I was wondering what all of the lines are that AG has started and is or will be discontinuing. This topic isn't meant to be depressing . . . I like reminiscing about the old product lines! [img]smile.gif[/img]

These are the ones I recall. (AG Gear might be a bit debatable since they still make clothing for girls, but they no longer send out a separate clothing catalog or have such a big line of clothing.)
